ABOUT ME
I know from experience that asking for help and talking to someone can be difficult, especially when we talk about the messages and pressure we receive culturally and socially. I want you to know that you do not have to walk alone through your journey. I believe the therapeutic relationship is a partnership, and we will work on your identified goals collaboratively.
Hi, my name is Shannalei Ankle and I am so happy you are here. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I obtained my Bachelor’s in Social Work from Adelphi University in Long Island, NY in 2014 and my Master’s in Social Work from Hunter College in New York in 2015.

My experience includes working with children, youth, families, and adults; however, my true passion is working with youth, specifically middle to high school age. I genuinely enjoy the opportunity to offer guidance and clinical support to individuals transitioning through sensitive and growing stages of life. I can see the profound and positive impact counseling can have on managing anxiety, struggles with self-image, socialization, communication, depression, loss and exposure to trauma for this age group.
I use integrative methods that allow services to be tailored to each client according to their individual needs. I use a combination of Psychoanalysis, Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, Behavior Therapy, Strength-Based Therapy and Faith based counseling.
I am a bilingual therapist who speaks Spanish fluently. I am offering a free 30 min consultation for you to ask me any questions and for you to see if I am the right fit for you.
